We do wonder whether anyone from Nokia will pick either design up or not.

This is clearly one of the more unorthodox phone designs – after all, how many handsets have you seen to date which features a cylindrical form factor? The Energy 888D could very well be the first of its kind, complete with a fully curved 2″ display. Apart from that, we don’t have any details about the rest of its specifications, but the clip at the back sure comes in handy since something this curvy could very well slip out of your pocket easily without you knowing any better.

Who knew that a cellphone could cause so much panic and still remain more indispensable that a computer? It’s plain simple that we cannot live without phones, even though we have all these studies and statistics that point at cellphones being one of the causes for brain cancer amongst many. Andrea Bolan, who represents Maine is panic stricken herself, and makes sure that she uses the speaker of the phone rather than holding the handset precariously close to her head. Based on a bill submitted by her, the likely steps that will be taken may make it compulsory for manufacturers to put labels on phones and packaging, stating that the device they’re selling can cause brain cancer (because of electromagnetic radiation).
We will soon see small children and pregnant women kept away from cellphones because of the same reason. Motorola, who sell a hell lot of their phones across the globe have sought a clean chit on this issue, claiming that their handsets comply to all international safety standards. We will soon hear a lot more on the same from other popular manufacturers.

When you talk about the market for cellphones everybody looks at China as the most delectable, so RIM and Palm must be fairly happy that word on the street is that they’ve managed to set up a deal with China Telecom, which will see their cell phones on said carrier somewhere between the end of 2009 or early in 2010. With an estimated 700 million subscribers in China, just a sliver of that would be a lot of money to anybody.

We’re surprised to hear that the V901 supports CDMA EVDO Rev.A 3G network, which is good news, really, as it can be used elsewhere outside of China. Other features comprise of Bluetooth connectivity, GPS support and a microSD memory card slot. Expect to see it hit the decks sometime in Q4 this year.
